Franklin Mint / 1921 Rolls Silver Ghost Tourer / FM DISCONTINUED / 1:24th Scale
Copper Body
Interestingly enough, this copper-bodied 1921 Silver Ghost actually had its genesis in the 1960's. Created to be a show car, it won Best in Class honors at Pebble Beach in 1991. The boat-tailed body has only one door - testament to the fact that more of them would have weakened the solid copper body.
FM has done this one up proud. The body is copper-clad metal and positively hurts your eyes with the light it throws off. Like so many of FM's models of early twentieth century cars, this one positively drips with fine little details. The wire wheels seem to have been done in photo-etched metal and are some of the best I've ever seen. The gleaming chrome dash has 3-D gauges and the passenger compartments are carpeted. Undercarriage detailing is all you could ask for.
