Burlingame Red & Polar White

 The Danbury Mint 1955 Olds convertible is finished in Burlingame Red & Polar White with matching red seats.  The numbers on the speedometer are accurately reproduced. You can see the Hydramatic selector positions ( N D S L R) at the bottom of the speedometer. The car is equipped with Olds Fiesta three-bladed spinner hubcaps. The engine detail is perfect right down to the spark plug wires, the fan belt and four barrel carburetor. The letters spelling out OLDSMOBILE are exactly reproduced on the horizontal grill bar as are the globes on the hood and trunk. (These "world maps" on the hood and trunk used to fascinate me as a boy growing up in Philly. What do they mean?) The suspension goes one better than most of the other cars as the leaf springs on the rear of the car compress. The trunk opens to display a spare tire, with the base of the jack attached to it, fitted between the tire and the fender just like the real GM cars of that era. The model comes with both a convertible boot and a cloth top.
