Danbury Mint / 1946 Dodge Power Wagon Wrecker / 1:24th Scale
Blue & Black
The Danbury Mint's 1946 Dodge Wrecker comes with many operating features, its winches for example. Raised chrome letters spell DODGE across the radiator shell and POWER WAGON across both sides of the hood. Besides wiring, engine compartment detail includes an amber fuel bowl alongside the carburetor. The windshield opens for ventilation, while the well fitted doors have exterior hinges. The interior is purely no frills, just as it should be. Floor shift levers include transmission, transfer case and power take-off with a throttle control for the winches under the dash. Black door panels have chrome window cranks, door handles, and screwheads. At the rear are twin booms similar to those found in Danbury's 1953 Chevrolet Wrecker with the exception that these only operate independently. A removable bed mounted spare tire sits beside a small toolbox containing three red warning devices (non-removable). The rear of the wrecker sports a pivoting V-bar to keep towed vehicles from hitting the truck. Red taillights are mounted outside of the box and have chrome rings. The drive train includes the transfer case with front and rear drive shafts and a PTO unit with shafts for both winches. There is also a working suspension.
