1960 CHEVROLET
IMPALA SPORT COUPE RED TEST COLOR in 1:24 scale. This model was created as a
test for color choices for the 1960 Impala Sport Coupe IN 1992 WHILE i WORKED
FOR The Franklin Mint. They were trying to decide which color would sell
better with collectors, and they only released this red version in a test
limited run, possibly under 200 units produced! This is one of the very few!
This is INCREDIBLY RARE, exceedingly hard to find, and this one is in
EXCEPTIONAL condition, it looks stunning. The Roman Red paint is very slick
and glossy, almost wet looking. There is the barest hint of faint traces of
paint rash on the doors but nothing that is noticeable on display. It can only
be seen under very close inspection. It will not be seen on display, and in no
way detracts from the beauty of this rare model. The color really makes the
model stand out in any collection. The chrome shines, and is in like new
condition. The beautiful matching red interior is spotless, and looks brand
new. The rest of the car looks spectacular as well. All of the emblems and
lettering are in excellent condition. The windows are clean and clear. The car
is intact in every way, and all parts are present and functional. The wheels
turn, and pivot with the steering wheel. Again, this Roman Red Test Color
model is rare & obviously hard to find ( I've only had ONE since 2001. A
Franklin Mint test model at a very reasonable price. It comes with a Franklin
Mint SR71 WHITE HARDTOP BOX W/O PAPERS.
One of FM's discontinued test issues from 1992 - One of hardest 1:24th Franklin
Mint models to
find. Reported less than 200 made.
Since 2001 I've only sold ONE!
